I know G.I. Joe had a very popular Marvel run (back in the 80's?).
Devil's Due has had the license for a number of years now.
They had a series that number up into the 40's before they did a relaunch resulting in the current G.I. Joe - American's Elite (issues now in the teens) written by Joe Casey.
I'm just curious if anyone previously followed the Marvel series but hasn't sampled any of the Devil's Due runs. And if so, why? _________________ Bender: Hey chumps. I heard you were on the ass end of an ass-kickin'... |

I followed Marvel's run. I actually have a complete run in a couple of short boxes somewhere.
I tried the DDP version, and I just couldn't get into it. Why? Probably mosly changing sensibilities and reading preferences. I also thought it was lacking the characterization of the Marvel book; I didn't recognize the characterizations. I think I gave it about 5-10 issues before dropping it. _________________ And don’t let’s start bloody debating free will again, ’cos we could be here all week. -- John Constantine

well, maybe I'll have to send you the first 12 or 13 issues of the relaunch as I have no real desire to keep them and don't plan on continuing with the series. _________________ Bender: Hey chumps. I heard you were on the ass end of an ass-kickin'... |
